We have a small private field in Knutsford that we would be happy to be used for an allotment in exchange for some garden maintenance in our own garden.
Thank you. Not sure if gardening for allotment space is a normal trade but I'm sure we can make something work if someone is keen.
yeah most of the people who offer their garden or plot for growing veggies usually ask for either produce from the garden or a bit of work doing in return
Remember that the local rate for a private lottie is £20 per year- with no facilities!
That's about 1-2hrs work if you were to pay a gardener to work in your garden!!
..To be fair- I wouldn't ask for too much 'help' in exchange
Still..it's a lovely opportunity for someone

true, i suppose you can't ask someone to do a lot of gardening for you.. not when you put it like that
But, that's the rate for a subsidised allotment from a local council - privately renting a small field would cost a lot more, and an unskilled/unqualified gardener wouldn't get paid as much, so I think there's probably grounds for some compromise there
Good luck mossgreen, I hope you find somebody
Food for thought, thank you all for the advice, I'll see if anyone is interested. Otherwise if anyone knows a good, reliable gardener in Knutsford, an individual rather than a company who would be willing to do a couple of hours a week maybe then let me know.
Hello,
I know this is a long shot as your posting is over one year old, however do you still have a field on offer for use as an allotment please?
Thanks

Hello jcknutsford and welcome to the vine.
I agree with Snadger that it's best to ask direct. As it's your first post you may not know how to contact the member.
Go to the original post and click on their name.
A drop down box should appear and it should allow you to private message the person.
Hope that helps.
Problem is that mossgreen hasn't visited the Vine since last August
Am I not right in believing that if she/he is sent a PM a note will arrive in her personal email inbox though?
