Already done the signing bit. I hope the British olympics are not just another millenium dome / Wembly fiasco but I don't feel very confident about the amount of benefit the ordinary citizen will get from it.

I remember when the Com Games were held, traffic was gridlocked, touts everywhere and tickets unaffordable.

If everyone on here signed, we could almost double the number of signatures n there. Need to get it above the number of folks who've signed the one asking the PM to stand on his head and juggle ice cream.

Added mine to the petition, all in favour of the olympics but not destroying valuable community resourses.

Just signed! We can put a man on the moon but can't build an olympic stadium without destroying a community facility that has been in place for 100 years! Shame on those developers, all they can see is money, money, money! Instead of worrying about their shareholders, they should use their architectural/engineering degrees to show some imagination and flare.

I just signed aswell. I actaully saw this plot on a programme a few weeks ago, so sad to see, one plot owner has been there for ages and really upset to hear he's plot is going.
I would be so upset if my plot was destroyed and I've only had it a few months.

                          Consider it signed.

Were also having to fight to keep our allotment. The Local council have shortlisted it to become a the site for a new high school. Even thought they say the site isnt big enough to have all the amenities required for it.

Just signed petition but the b******s in power will do exactly what they want (they allways do) Sorry to be so cynical my experiences.

Just reading an update on the Manor Park allotments on www.lifeisland.org. As of 12.30 today, only 3,672 people have signed the petition to save them. When you consider that over a million signed that petition against road pricing you'll see what a lost cause it is. It is a terribly sad state of affairs but shows that most people care far more about their back pocket than the things which, in reality, really matter.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Have signed it - isn't that typical, was speaking to my neigbour today who is well into horses and was saying about the extra help she was being offered for breading horses for the 2012 olympic riding team. Her issue is why now why not for other olympics. Sport is great but do others have to suffer for a 4 weeks of world interest. Surely we could show the world how good we are at growing our own and havign healthy produce
