As some of you know I have started to collect old maps of Nottingham.
I acquired a couple of maps 2,500/1(dated 1915) last week and was amazed to see the number of allotment sites, in the Radford /Hyson Green area, there were at least a 1,000 allotments.
Other areas of Nottingham had large amounts of allotments too.
Sadly most of these sites are now built on.
