due to continued frustration with warrington council and the ever expanding waiting list, we have bit the bullet and set up are own allotments in culcheth, warrington. we have plots of various sizes along the river bank in a very secure, rural place. we have set up a cycling track and are hoping to create a family freindly enviroment. locally there is plenty of manure, mulch and bark avilable. we are cuurently trying to install a small hydro plant to power the site and a water pump. too reflect all this cost , our site is not like the £1 per week, subsidized by the council where no body bothers as its so cheap--our plots average £5 and this is a true reflection of the cost involved. we want to create a group that work together and respect the site.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

The OP hasn't visited the Vine for 4 and a half years so I doubt you'll get an answer that way. You could try a PM. Do you know where the allotments are in the area you are interested in? If so you could turn up on a weekend morning as see if someone there can help. Have you rung the council they may be able to help even if they are not council run ones. There is some discussion about them on culcheth.net, but again dates back to 2010.
