    Sarah,

You have randomly posted on 7 old and new allotment threads so I've deleted 6 and moved this one so that you can ask people if they know of any plots available in the Warrington area.

There is an advert for allotments/stabling at the back of Ryfields. The sign is on Orford Road by the crossroads for Birchwood Expressway. Can't remember the number off the top of my head although I have tried to ring it myself with no joy.

I've seen the ad too - will try and look up the number on my way home from work tonight. It says ring to go on a list for allotments and stabling or something like that.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Thank you guys I rang but they said that there is a waiting list and that they are in no rush to allocate space as the allotments have not been made yet. They do not have a date that this wll be done I was told it will be done ''when they get to it''.

Hmmmm, worth getting your name on but doesn't sound as good a deal as the sign indicates. Good luck with it though. Have you contacted the parish councils as well as the main council as there are a number of other sites in addition to the main ones. I'm on one run by Lymm Parish council and applied for that one separately to my other applications.

                Allotments in Orford

If you are still looking for allotments to help your disabled group there is some spare land at Orford Park Allotments this used to be allotments but has been left to grow wild why not enquire at Warrington Borough Council.

                  Hey everyone,

I finally managed to get in touch with Warrington Council regarding putting my name down for an allotment.

I was expecting a waiting list but to my suprise i was told "there is at least 500 names on the list and we are now approving applications from 2005"

Five years for an allotment plot in Warrington? Must be something in the water!!!

                  Anybody any ideas??

                  Thanks

                  Chris

Phone them at least once a month keep on pestering them until they get fed up with you. I know people that have only been on the waiting list for a short while and have been given an allotment. Or if you don't mind hard work tell them you are prepared to tackle a uncultivated plot they have plenty of these.

Is that for all sites, Chris? I didn't put my name on the list until after then and have already had my plot for 2.5 years and was told I'd got to the top of another list a couple of years ago also but turned that one down as I already had a plot.

                        Hey Alison,

I was told they now operated a system where it was one list for all sites run by the council, (I intended to put my name down for Orford green site or vicky park black bear) when a plot comes free they would start at the top and if the plot was refused they would offer it the next person down.

Going to look around the sites this weekend to see what they are like and see if I can speak to a few members. Next week I will be getting on to the council and pester them i think.

May sound silly but how did you get your name on the list and what site are you at now? (I sent off a form last week to the council)

When I applied to the council it listed all the sites and I ticked the ones I was interested in - can't remember which ones but have a feeling it was the Viccy Park and Knutsford Road ones but not sure which others. I also contacted the Parish councils and got on some of their sites - no form for them, just an e-mail. First plot I got offered was the Elm Farm ones in Lymm. Shortly afterwards I was also offered one on Knutsford Road. Presume that took me off all the council lists have not heard anything since. Took my plot on in autumn 2008, there's 10 plots in total and 1 of them has never been used, 1 only slightly and another one was given up at the end of last year due to ill health and hardly been touched by the new tennants. Wish they'd sort it all really although at least the council has cleared the fly tipping off the one oposite me now which is something.

hi sarah my name is ken - (Contact by PM ) i am a member of St albans bowling club in bewsey street warrington for some time we have been looking for a group to cultivate land to the rear of our bowling club for their own use, in the past our members have used it, in return they would help us to maintain the surrounds of the green. Along with warrington voluntary action we arranged for creative support to do the job, unfortunately they lost their tutor and can no longer accommodate us, before you accept there is one thing you have to know the land actually belongs to the diocese in Liverpool, there would be no objection to you using it but I had ro make you aware of this please reply if interested

Ken, I'm not sure what response you'll get as the original poster posted her request three and a half years ago and hasn't been back since.
