Well that depends which part of the council you ring - any of the depts I work on you'd get something done

I emailed the council in early March using the link conveniently provided on their allotments page, asking to be put on the list.

I haven't had even an acknowledgement back yet, but after a couple of weeks the end of March I was fed up of waiting so I walked through the gates of another nearby council allotment site and took a vacant plot there.

I wonder if I'll ever hear from the council regarding the first one?

I did the same too. Emailed the council via the website. Then I was sent out some information. I already knew, about the local site. I already knew the fella in charge. His name was on the information that I had received, and it was only then I realised that he was involved. I'd spoken to him and he'd put me on the list. He's been very kind, helped me get the plot quickly in that be kept me informed and then have me a choice of plot. He doesn't seem particularly fond of the council folks. I think I've seen an inspector once in two years. And now, something is happening; a devolution of control. I'm not too sure exactly. Other than the price, and that I have a site neighbour who does my head in;I'm a happy hobbit. Especially as I'm the youngest member...

Wouldn't know! Seen in 3-4 times in 2 years. Pays his rent, but doesn't come.
