  • I have a plot :)

I thought there would be a waiting list but was quite surprised when I was told the site had a couple available.

So I have been and viewed and signed the tenancy today.

Rhubarb, Gooseberry and Blackberry's were all thrown in for three too!

Now to spend Sunday beginning to dig it over!

Oh I have just seen the spelling mistake in my excitement of the thread title.

Is a Mod able to edit this for me?

Congrats Chesh, a lot of digging for you. Just remember bite sized chunks. There are plenty of posts on here to help manage the weeds until you get to that area.....I would add a link but rubbish at doing it.

I am sure someone will be along shortly to point you in the right direction

Congratulations Chesh. As GL says, don't let your enthusiasm carry you away and try to do it all in one go. There's more than one weekend in the year and you only have one back
            Location - Leicestershire - Chisit-land
            Endless wonder.

Started clearing and digging over today. Small bed all done, and some pumpkin plants stuck in. They are a little small as I am sure that I planted the seeds to late so will see how they go. Also some mangetout that had just gone passed being seedlings.

Feels good to have something in the ground

Next will be an area for some raspberry canes

You are right its that feeling of digging, planting your crop and then the best bit ever is eating it.

Seems to be more free plots in the Birmingham area than elsewhere in the country.

We have more plots than anywhere else in the country, LG - we have 115 allotment sites and nearly 7,000 plots. Not sure if your site has a waiting list - most do, I think, including ours, and a couple of other sites I know round here do too.

That looks like a fine plot, Chesh - well done for taking 'before' pics - we're nosy on here, so we'd like to see more of your progress as you go.

Oh - and welcome to the Vine.
