  • Walled kitchen garden available, Tiverton, Devon

    Hi

We have a large walled garden that used to be part of an 18th century estate. The walled garden is quite big, approximately 70m by 30m. It has a 2.5m high red brick walls and is very pretty. It is currently grass and a few old apple trees.

There is an old Victorian greenhouse that has seen better days but is still functional. Also two old raised beds and one set of cold frames with no covers.

There is also a gardener's room with toilet, power and a sink.

Please PM me if you are interested. We would like to see it worked by a careful, responsible gardener. No charge, just a share of the produce!

How lovely! Wish I could, both my children were born in Tivvie. I lived near there for 3 years when I first came to England.
Hope that you find someone perfect!
No matter:the allotment is lovely, the tadpoles have legs, my sea kale has germinated and I am glad to be home.

My dream garden. Alas I am too far away and to old to start from scratch. Someone should take it on and create a pictorial record of its restoration. Hope its someone from the vine!

Oh, that is beautiful and such a generous offer, Tom. Like you Snadge that is my dream garden! Unfortunately I am too far away up here in Yorkshire. Someone else will jump at it though, I'm sure.

Thanks for the support everyone, the whole garden is a big project and we're just getting to grips with it.

Hi Tom, I was about to suggest you offer your garden on Landshare..............but you already have
Are there allotments locally where you could put an offer notice?

I can't believe you haven't got people tearing you to pieces for it . Would it be worth speaking to the council see if they have waiting lists and talk to them about the opportunity.

I hope you find someone for it - I go to Tivvie regularly, but not nearly enough to be able to take this on!
