"The City of Lincoln Council's executive is to discuss the future of Ermine allotments off Riseholme Road, which would cost £30,000 to bring back into useable condition."

Erm, it costs nothing. Find a committee and let them get on with it

I don't know the in's & out's of running an allotment but am assuming if they are quoting figures, they have some responsibility.

If it were our council it would be the cost of them outsourcing a company to clear the plots - essentially skimming the top and skipping it.

Like alldigging said - let the plots out, provide a skip or two, have a big bonfire, cost way less than a grand.

I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that the existing site is prime building land
