Beautiful day today and yesterday. Sowed some more peas (Onward) sowed red spring onions, some salad leaves, about a dozen parsnips, if they come through will sow some more. Filled up a big tub with fine soil and left it in the greenhouse to warm up to sow some carrots in the next week. Am still picking carrots that were sown last autumn. Tidied up the garden from old flower branches. About 4 of my daffs have big fat buds on. What a lovely site.

Finally placed my seed orders today, though had a bit of trouble tracking down shallots ( I still have PW's shallot seeds that I harvested as well). Also had to substitute Sturon onions for the variety I would have liked - and that I grew last year - Jagro, which were just brilliant and really really tasty too.
So what did I order
JA's ,Broad Beans, Runner Bean, Beetroot, Cabbage x 5 varieties, Calabrese, PSB, Carrot, Celeriac, Kale, Swiss Chard, Leeks, Onion and Shallot sets, Peas, Radish, Rocket, Swede, Turnip.
I still have sufficient lettuce, tomato, cucumber, courgette, french bean and assorted herb seeds from last season to do this one.
Tonight I'm gonna start to seriously sort out my paperwork - VAT return time again.Rat

Today whilst looking at the internet from the middle of the Sahara desert, I studied at length and in depth watering systems from water butts.
Chats and chiens are falling from our skies apparently and whilst there are many water butts collecting them, they are all a considerable distance from the veggie area. I know think I have worked out the answer and shall be putting it into practice when I get home, just as soon as the bits and pieces I've ordered online arrive.

Oh, and I also put a bid on a greenhouse on Ebay. I'm not saying which one in case anyone sneaks a bid on it.
If I get it, will mean a trip to UK to collect it, but can see the kids and visit some GC's for inspirational things to put in it.Bob Leponge

Today I sowed my tomatoes,
bloody butcher
Shirley
Ferline
Rio Grande
Sungold
Once that was out of the way I had to move my project lightweight landrover from inside next doors garage to just outside my workshop and then tarp it up. Not an easy task on your own when the brakes have siezed on.

This morning I made a start on my greenhouse cleaned & tidied it up ready to sow more seeds, did some more digging in my new veg plot and now I think I’m just about ready for the planting to start when Jack Frost goes to bed.
Spent a lovely afternoon on The Grapevine having a chat with others made some tea and now back to catch up on the GrapevineSmile and the world smiles with you

Joy of joys, my seed potatoes arrived this afternoon.
Took them out the box and looked at them (why did I do that? they are seed potatoes, I know what they look like) and then promptly put them away.

Too nice a day to stay in, so went and moved soil into one of the new raised beds and started to murder the leylandii that previous owners thought looked good in the designated veg area (!)
Moved pots of daffs and tulips out of tunnel and into sunny part of the garden. Cleared space in tunnel ready to put early crops in.
Went and talked to the seeds in the greenhouse.....
Collected twigs brought down by the gales to use as kindling
Came in and finished the veg garden plan. Now all I need to do is to carry it out......Growing in the Garden of England
