    • Assisted Mr Herbie with last raised bed, added last of compost and topped it up with some shop brought compost. Walked to garden centre to get some liner for two tier flower thingy. Moved all strawberry plants, planted them up in two tier flower thingy. Planted onion sets against my will! Put up some heavy duty wire mesh frames for peas, these frames I have recycled as hubby had previously used them for underneath compost bins to stop unwanted visitors. Potted up tomatoes from the propagator. Top dressed blue berry bushes. Lightly dug over one raised bed. General tidy up in the garden, oh and repaired trellis that fell to bits under the weight of the snow. All in all a very productive session in the garden

      • Dug over and sifted compost in raised bed no.1 then sowed carrot yellowstone (thanks Amanda!) and carrot samurai (thanks again!). Sowed parsnip Gladiator and Broad Bean Sutton, the latter in a large container. Put up a trellis for my gravevine to grow across. Erected an arch and put in position. Swept the patio and generally had a very pleasant day outside.

        • It felt cold here, so I've spent a happy afternoon indoors sowing flower seeds (thank you Epsom Gardener!) and my HSL parsnip seed in loo roll inners. So that's all the Feb sowing out the way - worried about next month's batch as I am seriously running out of windowsills now.

          • went to look at allotment plots today and get they keys next week, yippeeee. It was all a bit strange but seemed very easy to get an allotment, it seems that people in my area wait ages for allotments that are cultivated but don't take on the overgrown ones. So i have an overgrown one (not sure where the plot starts and finishes yet!!) so came home and daydreamed about all the things i can grow, have to work out how to clear the plot first though.

put some more potatoes out to chit, already have some going for potato planters but now can put some in the allotment. Checked my seeds on windowsill, spring onions and tomatoes coming through, not alot happening with chillis and peppers yet.

Cut back rose bush and general tidy up in my little garden. Checked wormery and removed bubblewrap

            oh and more daydreaming!!

            • dug last years carrot bed ready for my onions, leeks and garlic, didn't think I would manage it, but got to the end before it went dark. Will be going for a bath shortly to ease the aches, as can feel them already.
Even managed to make an apple crumble for pud, and put steak into slow cooker for tea, (OH made pastry!!!)
Waiting till Wednesday to plant toms, cucumber etc, ran out of time today, and Wednesday is the next day off.

                  • Today the old tunnel was cleared, the beds topped up and some mesh fitted for cucumbers to climb up.

All of the raised beds had engraved numbers fitting which will make identification easier for rotation next year.

The last of my autumn carrots were pulled today along with leeks and celariac.

                    • Finished digging the veg garden. Watered the fruit trees I put in on Thursday and moved some more bricks out of the way for the new greenhouse.
                      Hopefully finish moving them tomorrow.

                        • I went to the garden centre and was very restrained, just coming back with a bag of compost and 4 packs of seeds (2 x chiili, 1 x tomato and 1 x cucumber - I forget the varieties). Got home and dug my bean trench then filled with layers of cardboard and veg peelings. Then set to work with the seeds I bought in the morning planting 20 chillis and 6 tomatoes (I would have done more but that's the propogator full - thinking I might need a new one......).
