More digging. Then it started to rain. Will pot on a few more tomatoes later.

(technically what I did at the weekend, but was too tired to post about then)
-re-edged about 2/3 of my lawn (increasing the veg borders, I won't miss those 3 inches of lawn lol)
-planted 2 pears (conference and beugh hardy), 1 fantasia nectarine, 1 victoria plum and 1 stella cherry tree in big pots
-planted 4 rose bushes, 2 front and 2 back garden
-dug over beside my shed and planted 2 each of blackcurrent, redcurrant + green gooseberry, repotting disturbed bulbs from there.
-drilled holes in 5/10 of my containers needing them
-pruned the wild (currently non-flowering) rose and mallow bush at front
-repotted all my sowings from this and last month, so they're in nice window propagators for more light

just got e-mail back from the council after asking for permission to errect the shed I collected yesterday & was told no sheds are allowed on site.this surprises me as there is already one shed & what can only be described as a converted greenhouse, black bitumen panels on 3 sides!don't be afraid to innovate and try new things

Yesterday i actually got some gardening done!!
Planted out 26 garlic plants into the veg patch which have been in modules since end of September, got about another 15 to go out but they were planted a bit later so are still quite small. Planted 3 more Autumn Bliss raspberry canes & raked B&Q Soil improver over the bed as a mulch. Finally got around to planting up my vacant new flower bed which was dug at the end of last summer. In the greenhouse i noticed that some of my Sweetpea seeds are starting to make an appearence after quite a number of weeks, i was starting to lose hope. Quite a productive 3 hours. Still haven't managed to get any veg seeds sown so need to get them done - today hopefully!

I converted another piece of lawn into growing space so I have 2nd bed for climbing french's ready. The big dalek is nearly empty, there's just a small compost bin left.
I'll have to do some wash up to clean my hands though
Slightly tired but happy-a few hours well spent-outside,not stuck in the car or the buildingLast edited by coreopsis; 24-02-2009, 04:18 PM.
