Been to plot and finished digging Asparagus bed and 2 potato beds. Also dug a pit for climbing beans, lined with lots of wet cardboard and refilled. All my muscles aching like Billyo, but very pleased. Plot starting to look like a proper one now even though theres still lots to do.

Today I've moved loads of garden "stuff" out of my conservatory and into the greenhouse where it belongs. Put up 2 pasting tables as temporary space for the seed trays etc, pricked out some dahlias, gazania, and something else that my friend didn't know the name of but thinks it's something like "Goblia" (can't find it in the books but it's a pretty flower) and sowed some Marigolds that I got from Two-sheds last yearMy girls found their way into my heart and now they nest there

Sowed a new batch of coriander (Slowbolt variety)as we use a lot of it. It is on a north facing windowsill, along with one batch sowed about a month ago, which is starting to get decent size true leaves. I plan to keep sowing the coriander regularly as we just cant get enough for stirfries, Thai dishes and just about everything else that we cook...

Today I planted 3 blackcurrants, 2 red currants, 4 gooseberries and started to get my first raised bed ready to receive the strawberries that are anxiously waiting 2 rows rasps already in, done on Friday.
I tidied and cleared the weeds and started to peg out the new path (straight this time). Prepared three sites for my Lidl fruit trees which I'll need to bring up to the allotment.
Over the weekend my OH finished my fence/windbreak and the permanent bean poles and today he stapled some of the green scaffolders mesh to the windbreak so hopefully I won't have any more wind casualties this year.
Still have more trees to plant this week... and my friend and I have just taken on another plot - but this one has a shed and conservatory - oh joy!!
Feeling tired but very happy, but oh my hands are so sore - have been digging and weeding for 4 days now.

Following Rat's advice as when to start(I'm afraid I'm behind you folks a couple of weeks) I sown celeriacs(Giant Prague and Monarch) and chillies(Jalapeno). The trays are on the windowsill in the dining room(west facing).
Now I have to stop myself from poking the compost to see if they germinated

Did some module sowing. Some clumps of spring onion and a tray of peas - Veitch's Western Express - from a seed-swap with Lancashire Lad (Guess what peas I swapped!)
Also had a bit of a tidy-up in the greenhouse to make room for them. It looks a little less like a battlefield now!Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.
