Earthed up the potatoes again, potted on 3 Red Robin Tomatoes & put a spare Garten Pearl tomato into a large pot (already have 2 hanging baskets with 3 in each, this was left over), then had another turf stripping session - at least another session (maybe 2) before its done.

Today I spent the morning pricking out and potting on the last of the celery.
Then I planted out about another 500 onion sets. After that I weeded the tunnel, which was getting beyond a joke, moved some of my young frut bushes outside, planted some Perpetual Spinach out so that it ready to replace last years which is just beginning to show signs of running to seed.
Then I pulled 180 leeks, and pulled a crate of rhubarb sticks in readiness for my boxes this week.Rat

I too earthed up my spuds again, they're growing like mad! This afternoon I uncovered the bed that the runners will go in and pulled out one or two weedlings and raked in a little more fertilizer. I'm going to have to plant them out soon, they won't wait much longer! All the best - Glutton 4 Punishment

I sowed a row of the free seeds for this month - broccoli raab - watched by the chickens who said "Do another row!"
Planted out my onions grown from seed. Potted up my oca - I shall probably put it on the allotment but it's now in a big (6-7") pot per tuber. I don't know if it's frost tender but the pots are in the greenhouse on the assumption that it is.Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.

Checked and watered plants in the greenhouse, coldframe and pop up frame. Windy here this afternoon and so the containers and hanging baskets needed watering even after all the rain we have had as they had dried out. Checked sweetcorn this morning and uncovered its ok at the moment but covered up again tonight.

Went to the allotment after work as usual with the intention of doing nowt as I'd had a hard day at work.
I was sitting watching the chicks when it dawned on me that they would benefit from a perch in the run.
Set to and made a perch and fastened it in position. They were on it before it was finished...........another thumbs up from them methinks! My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order

Probably didn't get one single thing done that I'd planned to achieve today, which is always frustrating when people decide to come and visit - but how beautiful is it that they want to, and it would be completely horrid of me to turn them away.
So, unfortunately, the front and back lawns didn't get lawn sanded.
Nor did the areas I'd designated to be Xtra-RoundUpped for pernicious perennial weeds and suckers and trees and stuff.
Please Please Please let it be a fine day tomorrow where we live so that I can do all of that tomorrow instead......
Bless you for Listening. X

I've just watered the leek bed, brought seedlings out of the greenhouse for the day and watered them. Rain in the air so I might not be lugging cans of water down the garden path. Started making a log pile for insects, frogs, etc. in a corner of the garden.

Last night i sowed some seeds in pots, such as Spring onions, spinach, half Mizuna and half Rocket in a 12" pot (Just want baby leaves from both) and some courgette seeds in a propagator tray (The strongest seedling will be planted into a 12" pot).
I also earthed up my tatas and watered and checked my onions and strawberries. All going well so farMy Album, Progress so Far: -

Put the seedlings out to harden off, watered what needed it and the new mint, and the clematis and rose cuttings. It's been a showery day so not a lot of watering to be done. Planted a sweet Cicely I got from a market stall in Devizes - every herb I could think of, and more, for sale.
Noticed the mange tout and dwarf peas are shooting - little green tips just appearing above the soil. More potatoes appearing.
Washed white fly off my one pepper plant.
