    • Picked Raspsberries, filled the bird nuts, then took the now redundant tomato growbag out of the GH & spread it on the nearest flower bed, emptied everything possible out of the GH, swept it out, brushed down the staging, had a good sort / clear out & put everything back in so i can now find things. Was also going to sow some winter seeds & lant my onion sets & garlic but the inlaws turned up & that put a stop to the rest of my gardening afternoon. However they did cook dinner - thats the kind of visitors i like!

        • Plot Clearing.

We spent the day clearing our new plot, 15 x 8.5 metres of weeds. I'm aching in places I never knew existed. We've been at it 4 days now and still have about a third to go. I'm going to get a bed sorted tomorrow so I can get the garlic in. If there is something in at least it will spur me on, that's what I'm hoping anyway.

I simply put some manure through a riddle it takes out all the stones, old wood and other "rubbish" you get in farmyard manure.
I only riddled about two buckets full.
Ps I had about 4 tons of the stuff delivered last week end

                • Tidied up the back garden, raked the lawn to get rid of the dead stuff and some of the leaves and stray guineapig bedding. Filled a couple of sacks with leaves to rot down. Cleaned the piggies. Went to work and attacked the front garden there. The quince was taking over the drive, but not any more!!!!! Filled another two sacks with leaves from there - just need to work out how to get them home.

I'm always in the manure it's just the depth that differs.

                    • - picked half a bucket of sloes (big fat ones, as big as grapes)
                      - and 250g blackberries
                      - planted Radar onion sets in modules
                      - sowed lots of radish (it does well for me from an autumn sowing)
                      - collected more bags of leaves
                      - took pumpkins home: the shed is getting a bit damp now
                      - planted about 200 spring bulbs in sister's garden

                      • I dug and dug and dug some more (i like digging).

Lots of weeding and took down the brassica cage to discover a nice crop of broccoli.

Going to pick my onion sets up from PO this morning

                        • Put the garden to bed for the winter, lightly dug over nearly all of the beds, adding own compost and spent compost, and some leaf mould from last year.
Probably won't have this garden next year, am gutted, but still want to leave it in good condition in case.
Cabbages and parsnips are massive, can't wait for frost for latter. Chard going great guns too.
Put all potted stuff in greenhouse, the peach tree, the geraniums, bay plants, chilli plants.
Trimmed all bushes, trees, put not very woody stuff on compost heap. Left the larger stuff to burn in a few weeks.
Still have to sort out front garden, but until the tree outside stops shedding, not much point in continually sweeping up leaves.

                          • Yesterday I planted 12 strawberry plants, 50 onion sets and 30 odd garlic cloves whilst oh dug up a bamboo.

Today we bagged 20 rubbish sacks of weeds for ferrying to the dump.

We did RtB, although we were very soggy at the end of it and covered head to to in dirt/mud. All part of the fun though

Today, in the rain I planted about 100 daffodil bulbs at the front of lottie and also sowed a row of spinach and two rows of broccoli raab, not sure if this will take as I'm a bit late sowing.

Yesterday, OH erected my new plastic greenhouse, not bad for £60 just hope the wind don't get hold. Also planted my sons victoria plum tree.
