  • Put my chilli seedlings out into the sun for the first time and loked over my first raised bed plantings and garlic has sprouted. Time for some bird netting very shortly I think.

I would love to share Jeanied. My eldest daughter popped round and I showed her what to do. She was very impressed so I gave her some cream so she could impress her family. It is pure magic!!

              • Not much gardening, just a bit of tidying up. Bought some stuff at Wilko's yesterday including a Calamondin Orange for £4. Had the grandsons stay over last night, so spent most of the morning preventing them from destroying the garden. Took them to the park this afternoon to let off a bit of steam. Gone home now, time to relax.

                • Did some digging and weeding. I also planted two rows of snowball onions. I still have a half of the pack left, so i gotta find some extra space for them.

I remember making butter when I was little, cream from top of the milk in a jam jar and a lot of shaking !

How do you do yours Bren ?
You have to loose sight of the shore sometimes to cross new oceans

I would be a perfectionist, but I dont have the time

I'd be interested to hear how you got on, Pies - I did a similar trial in the autumn ...

                            • Planted out 5 free Lillium Landini bulbs, potted up 3 free Dahlia Imperial Palace bulbs, planted Heuchera Tapestry & Kimono, dug up Achilea Terracotta & potted until I find it a new home, moved 6 pots of tulips outside in preparation for planting, planted a load of iris corms, planted out something i'd labelled as "knee high red thing!!" repotted two holly seedlings, binned a load of dead plants, moved my garlic from the GH to the bed where its going to be planted when i have the energy! Time for hot bath now!

                              • Planted my dwarf sweet peas into deep window boxes for to climb up the deck railings. gathered some twigs to train them up as they are starting to put out tendrils.
Sowed some more as I ran out. Planted up two hanging baskets with pansies which add a bit of colour to the garden.
I now have daffs, crocus, hyacinths, polyanthus and mop head primula in blossom. The buds on my plum tree are also beginning to open. All good signs that spring is definitely here.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.
