  • Pricked out 15 dwarf cosmos seedlings into modules & my 1 lonely passion fruit seedling, and put them in the mini plastic GH inside the normal GH. Pricked out 5 Costoluto tomato seedlings - they get to go back into the kitchen on the windowsill. Sowed Winter Density Lettuce, Bordeux Brocolli & Double Sparky Mixed French Marigolds into the heated propagator in the spare room.

    • Finished laying woodchip at lottie so now have paths!

Station sowed some Olympia Calabrese and cloched it up.

Had 5 Ulster Classic pots left after planting 32 at the lottie a few days ago so put these in grower bags in the back garden.

Also sowed Mixed Lettuce, Mixed Rocket, Mesclun and Red Beard Spring Onions into pots in the back garden.

Red Rubine Sprouts are up and growing away happily on kitchen windowsill.

Checked my leeks outside in cold frame and they are loving it now they are outside rather than in the house.

Didn't manage to get the half row of Sugarsnap peas that I wanted to sow done today so hope to get this done on Friday.

Uploaded a few more pics to my profile.

I went to the garden centre twice yesterday, both times coming out with a lot more than I went in for. I need to start going in there blindfolded

          • Dug over and de-stoned parsnip bed before sowing 3 types of parsnip: Gladiator, Countess and Tender & True. Covered most with milk bottle cloches . Then had to come home as it's raining and baby was getting wet (where did I put that rain gear? ).

            • Quite a nice day. Not super sunny but bright. thought it was a bean day so planted four types, French green, Italian yellow, Borlotti and some snake beans that I got from Thailand (by post). Put a net over a trellis arch for when the beans are ready to go out. (Well, I'm an optimist). Got really annoyed when I realised that my 3 year old cucumber seeds hadn't kicked in after over 3 weeks (no it wasn't that that that annoyed me) so I drove to the GC bought a pack of new seeds, drove back (an hour) and when I got back, 3 of the old ones were minutely peeking through. My middle name is 'Lucky'. Still, I suppose the new ones will use next year etc. Got some more spuds in and a few more Red Barons. A good day.
Why didn't Noah just swat those 2 greenflies?

Why are they called apartments when they are all stuck together?

              • Took aged Ma for a hospital appointment this morning but when we got back it was still sunny. I planted out 2 lots of peas - Ezetha's Krombek Blauwschok and Goldensweet - around their obelisks. Hope to breed from these 2!

This has released 6 root trainers ready for some more sowings!

Are you sure you weren't looking in a mirror when you read the seed label Flum?

                    • Pricked out french black, roma and sungold tomatoes as well as clumps of basil. Also pricked out were lots of salads and brassicas.

Plug plants of geranium and lobeloa were potted on and several trays of beetroot and scallions were also sown in modules. Time then to give the knee a rest.

                      • Sowed two packets of F1 Incedible sweetcorn in two trays of 24 modules. Sowed some Marian swedes in modules too.Sowed 20 Yates Collard and 20 other types of collard in a 40 plug seed tray. I have another 20 seeds of a smaller type of Collard to sow a bit later.
Rest of the day (back to work tomorrow) was spent progressing with the chicken run which is turning into an epic adventure. It does get a bit hard trying to make something from nothing and STILL make it look presentable!
Our last burning date is end of the month so was a bit annoyed that the householder behind my plot had their washing out all day, so I couldn't light my bonfire.

                        • Sowed so many seeds in my nooo baby greenhouse I'm not sure I can remember them all without looking - winter lettuce, two types of toms, broad beans (in guttering), spinaach, thai red dragon chillis, tabasco chillis, amsterdam forcing carrot (in a pot to stay in the greenhouse), greyhound cabbage, all year round cauli, sweet peas .. I give up there! Cant put cloches on the allotment, they just get nicked, so have to sow in modules and transplant later which can be a pain but better safe than sorry.
