Planted out more Sweet Peas. Sowed more Dahlias and potted the first ones on. Potted on my Verbena. watered all the Strawberry plants which are in full flower now. Potted on my tomatoes and chillis. Two tomato plants now have flower buds just opening. Hoping for an early crop.

Planted out broad beans, planted potatoes and peas [yes I know I'm a bit late ]
Got fed up with the peach tree in a pot so planted it out, it has small signs of peach leaf curl, hopefully it'll be fine, I nipped all the affected leaves off but it's time for some info.
Sowed sweetcorn and carlin peas in root trainers, again, late with the second.
De-couched the beds, only a couple here and there but it's not getting a foothold on my patch.
Turned compost again, found several massive slow worms huddling under a plastic pot I'd put on top of it.
Put compost on top of potato heaps to stop the cats pooing in there, they really hate compost, brill!!
Sowed carrots, covered with a roofless cloche, we'll see a) if they grow because I'm not giving up yet, and b) whether root fly will find them.
Realised there are not enough beds to realistically feed everyone properly, only enough to get a little bit of fresh veg. Best look into square foot stuff. And find some free compost.

Well after my last early sowing disaster (sowed the runner beans in march Doh) last night i sowed 16 scarlet Emperor and 16 Cobra french beans destined for my parents garden. Today I will sow 6 of each for our garden along with my Aaran Pilot tatties and lay down some weed hurt.

Me, nothing, except driving everyone around for the day as Mr VVG went to hospital for an operation on his hand, but not before he went digging our last but one bed from 6-9am. So i will not have to struggle to get it done along with all the sowing and planting. I did the school run! Just checked that my local fox hadn't been on my Veg beds and kept a close eye on squirrel who was running around my potatoes. Probably some watering tonight and a quick check on my seedlings in their cold frame.

All the best,

Sowing frenzy: climbing french beans, radish, more lettuce, oriental mustards, peas, bright lights chard, american land cress, pumpkin and several huge long rows of carrots. Reason for the early sowings of french beans: lack of time later in the month: I figure the seeds can sit and sulk until they are ready to do something! Planted out tomatoes into the graet outdoors today also: my early toms last year were terrific (until the blight hit) so am bunging them out early again.
I added 300 L of compost as a top dressing to my beds and replaced the wooden edgeing strips on 2 beds today too!

Not long in- Cut ours and neighbours grass and trimmed borders. Sorted through a bunch of pots i' lent to my parents, sowed a tray of moneymakers, tray of marigolds, basil, parsley, thyme, chives, rosemary all of which have gone in the blowaway. Plenty still to do tomorrow after a few days away from home.

Sowed some Celtuce, took some Chrysanth cuttings, stripped some dried chillies off a plant and sowed the seeds. Made the mistake of scratching my eye after deseeding the chilli's.
Planted some more gladioli corms and did quite a bit of weeding. Quite a productive evening really and I could have stopped at the allotment longer but promised OH I would be home early for supper. My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order
to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)
