My children will grow up knowing the Good Life... one day Tom and Barbara, one day!
Well, I know it is a bit late in the season, but I finally got my maincrop spuds in and planted up some strawberry plants in a new bed. Then we had a nice shower of rain.
Potted on my chilli's, peppers, tomatoes and courgette's and finally got my 16 Runner beans and 16 french beans into a watering tray to make life easier. Considering options for next week, 7 empty 2ft long troughs to fill, 2 more carrot, 2 parnsips, 1 spring onion and for the last 2... probably succesional sowing of carrots... love carrots.
After spending most of yesterday sorting out DD's garden I nipped down the allotment last night to empty two more bags of spent mushroom compost on one bed and plant 12 potatoes in another. Rain threatened (promised!) and thunder rumbled so I came home and the whole weather front sailed right around us! Grrr.
Made a very long cloche and covered it with micro mesh. Hopefully the carrot root fly wont get my early nantes this year.
Dug some holes in the membrane and put some manure in, this is where i will sow my Butternut squashes.
"He that but looketh on a plate of ham and eggs to lust after it hath already committed breakfast with it in his heart"
Sowed a tray of climbing french beans, a tray of bush type french beans, a tray of self fertile runner beans. Planted out the last of the crimson flowerwed bored beans.

Watering in the greenhouse, shuffling pots and seed trays around to try and fit them all in. Moved sweetcorn from the propagator to the greenhouse. Tidied up generally.
Potted on toms and chillis. Was utterly ruthless and actually composted the ones I won't need!!
Planted out cornflowers. Resowed the carrots and cat proofed the carrot bed!
Potted on various brassicas; sowed some dwarf french beans and some more brussels; turned the compost heap (sort of turned anyway); convinced my lovely hubby that he would love to strim the grass at the lottie tomorrow; took off all the broccoli heads that have gone to seed overnight.
