  • Transported and layed three paving flags down greenhouse centre. Mice had been into seeds i sowed yesterday so I have moved them to a higher spot in the greenhouse. Done a bit of weeding and fertilising the allotment beds!

to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)

    • Potted on red cabbage and chillies, aubergines and sweet peppers, gradually filling up my little stayput. Sowed some snaps, more coriander and did a bit of a general tidy-up.

      • Spent my full day down the plot today, so got a lot of weeding done, sieving and raking beds until a tilth.

Sowed some more beetroot, chard, and peas.

Planted out some PSB and dwarf curly kale, along with my sweetcorn.

Also, sowed some parsnips- bit late in the day, but as an experiment well see how they do.

        • Son cut the grass thank goodness. I earthed up potatoes and this afternoon will be sowing turnip and winter greens. Watered all the toms which are desperate to go outside, but it's too cold today.

I also sowed some parsnips today. Are they late? My online gardeners almanac said this is the week to do it. Hope I have no problems :0

            • - potted on lots of toms, chillies and flowers
              - planted out another few dozen French beans
              - planted out more sweet peas (I keep finding pots of them tucked behind other stuff)
              - pruned back the pyracantha & forsythia to the fence, keep them tidy
              - pulled out the "wrong colour" aquilegia, will try and replant them at school
              - hand-pollinated the "right colour" aquilegia to try & get lots of seed
              - did lots of weeding up the lotty: the few sprinkles of rain we had has germinated lots of weedlings
              - picked a carrier bag of broadies
              - started more Frenchies (Cherokee) & sweetcorn (Conqueror) to chit
              - continued hardening off lots of school's flowers, sweetcorn & gh spuds
              - planted radish, sweetcorn & flowers in baskets & borders with school Garden Club
              - desperately trying to keep up with the watering (losing battle) and weeds (ditto)
              - exhausted. Wondering why I bother

              • Yesterday - lottie - planted out some lettuce and cabbage seedlings, sowed parsnips and more radish. Earthed up the potatoes. Rescued little grandson from a VERY SCARY CATERPILLAR.

                • Lots and lots of watering
Transplanted dwarf beans from cold frame to bed and out under cloches moved from courgettes. Put fleece on courgettes
                  Earthed up new potatos.
Watered on Nemaslug. Doubt they will work well since too dry!
                  Transplanted sunflowers
                  Harvested lettuce
                  Put hazel sticks on peas.

                    • Dug up 100 onions and 50 garlic and 25 shallots that have white rot. Just made delis onion marmalade as a consolation. Half weeded the patch on the plot ready for replanting something. Thought about planting my courgettes and squash there but te patch is not nutrient rich so would welcome advice. Can I dig in compost and will this suffice?

                      Loving my allotment!

Ooh I could be although I did my path laying some months ago now. Maybe we just have good taste in tomatoes.

                          • Played musical plants in the greenhouse AGAIN to make way for floral sowings. Bought some orlaya grandiflora seed from the Malvern show yesterday - sown today. Picked up loads of end day bargains, foxgloves, lupins, delphiniums, anchusas and thrift. All planted this morning. Bought a caper from Jekka's herbs - just got to work out what best way of keeping it is. Need to get my brassicas up and in as they are huge plants now. Have sown way too many as usual. Weeded and watered lottie and there are still more springing everywhere. Planted chard at home - thanks twosheds!
Am exhausted but full day at the allotment tomorrow if weather holds.

                              • Musical plants in the greenhouse just like VVG. Went to the lottie with grandson and did some weeding. Too muggy to do any heavy digging. I have some pods on the bored beans that TwoSheds planted out for me, and one nearly ripe strawberry. Bladdy overwintering onions are bolting.
