        • Potted up all my herb seeds, Sage, Rosemary, Tarragon, Thyme, Marjoram and Garlic Chives, will get around to potting Chives, Lemon Balm, Dill and Fennel tomorrow now that I've replenished my seed supplies. Had a good wash and tidy out of all my pots, split and repotted some of the tomatoes, likewise my Scotch Bonnet chillies. Went and bought another couple of propagators, a big ball of garden twine, some small envelopes for left over seeds and a pair of overalls for allotment use . Altogether a rather succesful day.
It was dark. And cold. And very, very empty.

And in the middle of all of the dark, cold, emptiness lay something darker, and colder, but very, very full.

            • Spent an hour breaking up my parents ancient compost bin in the back garden, it hasn't been touched since the 1990's. The top 3-4 inches was dried matter under that was what can only be described as a cement like rock hard mass. All because I had the bright idea to use the bin as a large potatoe planter (3ft high with holes all round the sides.

Teach me to have bright ideas, my wrists still have pins and needles.

              • Thinned out and repotted some tomato seedlings, finished off sowing my herbs into pots, organised my seed tin, sourced and bought a big bag of hydrated lime. Wanted to go down the allotment but much too wet today to do anything of real use down there so won't bother.

                  • Pricked out the Golden Acre cabbage and the Dahlia seedlings. Spent 2 hours at the allotment marking out beds and planting out Dwarf Extra Early Pea Oskar. New plum tree, Burbanks Giant, arrived, will take to the allotment tomorrow. This is a gift from my Mum. Yup, she's the one who wanted nothing to do with MY allotment now it seems to be our allotment
