Lifted some Turbo onions to dry off along with some rather decent sized shallots. Planted some curly kale in there place.
I had a dozen late chrysanth cutting in 4 inch pots which are pot bound and I wasn't going to bother with but sod it says I, as I potted them on into large pots. They've got two chances.
Came away with some peppers to try in an omelette (took half a doz chook eggs as well), 2 Rokita,2 Jalapeno and 2 cayenne. My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order
to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)

Collected eggs from the chickens - 2 in the nest box and 1 behind the fern
Harvested courgettes - made a courgette pie
Harvested blueberries - hubby made blueberry muffins - yuuuuumm!
Harvested ripe Roma toms, skinned and popped them in the freezer. Planning on making passata when I've collected enough.
Smiled proudly at my Hooligan pumpkins and tied them in to some beanpole tripods.
Watered the cabbage, PSB and kale seedlings - must plant them out at the weekend.come visit a garden

Yesterday harvested some more greengages, lifted the rest of the spring planted onions - very pleased with those, especially since I got the sets from the £1 shop and they have done really well - Sturon I think, picked a few more runner beans and then I cleared the bed where the onions had been and planted some Autumn King carrots just as the rain started! Then it rained pretty much all afternoon and evening. Came home and made plum and greengage jam. Today been into work.

~ spent an hour trying to open this page
~ weeded courgette patch, cut off all powdery mildewed leaves. Fed them all comfrey tea
~ weeded baby carrots: tedious job
~ cut out a lot of botrytis-struck foliage from the gh (that'll learn me for keeping it humid)
~ cut the lawn, again (guinea pigs can't keep up)
~ ran out of compost space, so turned over a dalek and started it again
~ tied in more wayward bramble branches, it's growing fast
~ filled 8 buckets with weeds & dead plants: filled another 2 daleks
~ picked lots of early (autumn) raspberries: the freezer is full
~ made another 6 jars of courgette chutney
~ bottled last year's courgette wine. Hopefully it will mature & improveLast edited by Two_Sheds; 19-08-2011, 09:16 AM.All gardeners know better than other gardeners." -- Chinese Proverb.

Lifted the rest of the white potatoes and put in the shed to dry a bit before bagging them up. Barrowed manure and spread over the empty beds, covered with newspapers and a bit of soil. Weeded and cut grass. Harvested, made piccallili and the inevitable greengage jam!

Very exciing weekend - picked the first 2 cucumbers I have ever grown: burpless tasty green. I'm hooked for life!
Also tomatos (Stupice and Glacier), french beans (allegri - excellent harvets so far) courgettes, potatos ( white duke of york) and watered soft fruit, tomatos, cucumbers but gardening activity otherwise suspended because of baby 2 loudbarker christening.
Next weekend will be weeding, planting autumn salad, mowing and clearing generall, as well as the above.

Made strawberry jam, picked blueberries, mulched the cherry tree, watered the rhubarb, picked a mahoosive yellow courgette and a Romano pepper for our stir fry dinner, added homegrown chillies and garlic to the stir fry, forgot about sugar snaps in the freezer until I'd finished and we'd sat down to eat.come visit a garden
