has anyone got any spare crab apples, quinces etc

Hi everyone, I'm based down near Bath, but have a car and so can travel. I'm looking to start making some jelly and really want to get hold of some crab apples, quinces, and any other fruit of a similar ilk.

Can anyone help as they should all be ripening now.

Hi, its always worth asking on your local freecycle group, I recently asked for unwanted fruit on my local group and was offered plums, apples and pears.

Our local Tesco have trees of crab-apples,absolutely laden.I dare say they would let me have some but I think of the petrol fumes.

Thanks for that tip grapelet, and welcome to the vine too. I followed your advice and have been offered damsons and crabapples today.

Excellent, might be worth asking for specific fruit in a week or so, if your group allows more than one wanted message. I asked for and got a variety of jars with lids, for jam and chutney making, as its my first time.
