Found that feeding with the tomato feeds made the biggest difference and more than doubled the crop. Biggest bother is the dog which sips off the ones that are ready and leaves the rest.

      My strawberry tips

I keep my strawberry beds slightly acidic about 6-6.5ph. As I live within walking distance of the sea I go down and collect seaweed, wash the excess salt off and layer it around the strawberrys. Keeps the slugs off. I don't water unless the soil is dry to the touch. I add some liquid fertilizer heavy in trace minerals and low nitrogen. Strawberries are always very flavourful. And of course the most important tip, variety choice. I had 36 different varieties at one point, down to 7 that I thought was best now.

        Dear all,

Thank you all for taking the time to answer my strawberry question. You all sent in some brilliant advice. I'd just like to let Nickdub, Lottie Dolly and Chris Hulme know that they were featured in the allotment inspirations page in the April issue.
        Best,
        Rose
