Finally, a small strawberry crop. This summer's were c**p, but now there are a few appearing on my perpetual plants, and I'm managing to pick them before the slugs/woodlice get to them.

Snap ! Didn't get many from my crop at the lotty, but I've got some in a hanging basket at home which I had for breakfast today. (Though the snails round here must fly, 'cos three had made their way into it)
I'm still getting about 6 big fruit every day from a variety "Malling Opal" which is a perpetual.I am growing 12 plants in a large tub. Had a small crop at begining of the season and now this regular crop since late August with more flowers coming. Very Pleased
It's not the growing old I mind but the growing stupid with it!
My strawberries are still cropping but only a few at a time. I am picking them when they are ready and freezing them for jam/wine making later in the year. By then, I should have enough

We have aromel which ar cropping superbly well. As a bonus we bagged 90 runners off the 50 original plants to ensure we have loads for next year. Aromel are superb, big, very tasty fruit

I presume that 'perpetual' in this instance means they crop over a long period???
