You're very welcome. Don't forget to give it a watering every week or so, if we get a dry spell and good luck :-)

to stop it spreading I dug a deep hole and put in an old dustbin with the base cut off, we have topsoil over 3ft deep, and then planted in that and it seemed to have stopped it sending runner roots every direction, on a north facing wall they are thriving, just using the last of last years frozen fruit..

Our raspberries are in two places - either brick built beds in an old greenhouse base from some previous occupant, or at the other end of the garden I cut the bottom out of an old bathtub and buried it (the sides, not the bottom!) to give them a barrier.

I have lifted all my raspberries as I need the space for widening the drive, but I put them in 50ltr tubs with
6-9ins of compost bin soil in the bottom, and topped up with garden soil, they looked very sad , with the leaves wilting , but 2 days later the foliage is looking fresh and healthy, when the drive is done the tubs will be put along the side of the drive so I can reach them easier than before. I won't get the earlier crop as I chopped them back (stems that didn't have time to crop last year ) but with their soil now enriched we should get a bit of a crop..
