Bit early for fruit on a plum tree - if you mean Little tiny fruit-lets turning yellow and falling off - then those are ones which were not pollinated.
This early, incomplete pollination is pretty much the only cause. Or possibly a late frost
Do the fruit look very dark green, brown or black? If so, it'll be frost. If they look a normal shade of green or a bit yellow, then it's incomplete pollination.
