Raspberry cuttings?

We've got 5 JoanJ plants put in this spring. I'd like some more plants for ourselves and our neighbours - how and when can I take cuttings please?

You will find that they will send up shoots some way from the original cane. Dig these up and ensure that they have lots of root and plant as required.

My autumn bliss have sent up canes over 2' away from the original rows, these will be transplanted as mentioned above in the next few weeks to form another row.

Taking this a little further. First, I need to move my two autumn bliss rasps; is it safe to do this when I cut it back in February and can I split the clump as you do for perennial plants?

I'm a complete novice with fruit and so would greatly appreciate the help of more knowledgeable viners.

Hi Phil,

I'm no expert, just coming to the end of my first fruit-growing year, but I believe Autumn is the time to move rasps about, so they can get growing in their new home once Spring comes.

I'm sure other Grapes will correct me if I'm wrong...
