  • Can you identify these for me ?

    I have just taken on a new plot and in among alot of raspberries i have found these ,can anyone shed any light on what they are ,i believe that one is cherry ??Click image for larger version

    The first is an apple and the second as you say a cherry, though whether a fruiting sort or no is impossible to say from the photo.

          The blossom is usually a giveaway.
          Fruiting cherries have flowers in white or occasionally very pale pink. Flowering cherry flowers are invariably pink, and often doubles. Flowering cherries usually won't produce fruit.

              Some flowering cherries produce usable fruit but many just produce pips with a thin film of fruity flesh that are not worth harvesting.

                And double-flowered ones won't produce fruit at all, being infertile as most doubles are.
