Every year about three-quarters of the plums on my Czar plum tree end up deformed. It's a very specific deformation: the skin in just one location for some reason sticks to the stone, so instead of the fruit expanding as normal, it ends up with a dent on one side.
This isn't pocket plum. The fruits don't turn yellow, nor are they hollow. In fact, these deformed fruits usually ripen as normal to start with, but unfortunately the deformation usually causes cracks in the skin, which then causes a lot of the fruit to get brown rot.
I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to cure it, but does anyone at least know what it is or what might cause it? Poor pollination, maybe? It is quite an early bloomer.
