Goji Berry Bushes

Hi - I have avery small garden and was given a rather sickly Goji Berry bush. I realised that it had been over watered and planted too deep in the pot and remedied these problems - it instantly began sprouting and looks healthy considering its bad start. However it is very small.

Any help - advice - enocuragement would be wonderful. I can only grow in containers or pots (hoping to move to a bigger plot sometime in the future).

I'm not sure how much help this is really if you're limited for space but I had some Goji bushes in builder's buckets that failed to thrive - on planting into soil though they're looking much better. I guess the compromise would be the biggest pots you can accomodate?

Hi - thanks for the reply. I have been told that it is evergreen and mine seems extremely robust. I have read a little and it grows in the Himalayas so can survive down to -15c without feeling the strain; what I have discovered is that it seems (or at least my plant does) not like to be water logged or watered too much.

Hope this is of use - as I learn more I will post in the hope it will help any that are interested.

Hi - thanks for the reply. I have it in a very small pot and in a sheltered shady plot; it seems to still be recovering from it's overwatering. I shall transplant it in the spring (?) into a large round pot and give it some good soil in the hope of a real burst of growth and maybe some fruit. Now it's getting colder I can't wait for spring.....

Warning:
I am growing some.

I have read that they are forst resistant down to -15C as above... once they are established.

So I've put all mine which are 8 months old - in pots in the greenhouse for winter.(We have cold, wet and windswept winters)
