I gather that the sowing instruction in Spanish too? Although I haven't grown from seeds before, I'm growing this way this year. My seed packet shows sowing time between Jan and Feb/Mar.
Any idea on the variety of your strawberry because you can check out sowing instruction from various seed suppliers' websites. I have been warned that germination can take upto 4 weeks so don't despair when nothing happens for a long time.... Good luck.
Sowed mine last week in small newspaper pots in a heater propogator on the window ledge. The instructions told me to give them some warmth, sow between Jan and March and cover lightly with compost. Did warn germination can take a while so obviously nothing to see yet. Mine are an alpine variety, don't know if that makes any difference.
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
Just about to start sowing strawbs, little alpine mignonettes, asked around at work if anyone fancied any and got about 90 replies!!! hears hoping the seeds good!
Sorry I haven't but hopefully someone has and will give you their opinions. I bought mine as cold store runners (3 of them) from Wilkinson store for £1.50and they were perfectly alright.

Good on you, should be interesting! I too have Mignonettes (luckily there are lots in a seed packet) to grow along with another Strawberry called Sarian F1 and Fresca although I'm feeling a bit downhearted by the possibility of germination failure as seeds tend to be very tiny. Good luck on your Mignonettes and your work colleagues.
I grew Strawberries from seed in the Autumn of 2006. They were an Unwins variety called 'Temptation' I think. And I didn't use any heat to germinate the seed.
Germination rate was about 75-80%, and whilst the seedlings were miniscule to start, with a mixture of TLC and complete neglect, they grew into fantastic and very productive plants (as can be seen from my home-made strawberry planter on my blog).
'Temptation' is a variety particularly bred for Container-growing, as they are slow to send out 'runners'.
As I said already, I sowed them early Autumn, and they were cropping the following summer, so definitely worth doing if you have a small budget, like wot I did.
Yikes, looked in the propogator last night and discovered that some of them have sprouted already - so much for it taking months as warned on the packet!!!!!

Did you say MONTHS ! I only sowed mine last Monday, looks like a very long haul ride . They're Sarian F1 and Fresca, both sitting in the boiler room.

That's what the packet said but they've only taken just over a week so it's amazing I checked!

My Sarian F1 seeds have just sprouted but only a tiny few out of 20 odd seeds, 2 weeks from sowing and they aren't in heated propagator but my boiler room. I also sowed Fresca at the same but I'm not holding out much hope. Which Strawberry seeds are yours?
