  • Raspberry canes and rain...

Got some raspberry canes delivered the other day... problem is, where I want to plant them is rather waterlogged

I could plant them, but would they end up rotting etc?

Meantimes, they are in the garage, and get their roots soaked for about an hour or so a night...

    What should I do?

You could stick them in a BIG pot with compost around the roots - it would stop them drying out (ha ha in this weather) or flooding. When things settle down they should be in decent condition to go into their new home.
Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.

Local Garden centre had them stuck in flower pot all last winter (5off) and they grew away fine in the spring. So I suggest you put them in a big pot with compost water once or stand in rain and wait till the ground reappears from under the river. Seriously take the opportunity to dig the bed over putting in as much muck as you can, and get out any perenial weeds
It's not the growing old I mind but the growing stupid with it!
