  • Lidl fruit trees & bushes

Visited our local Lidl today and saw they're having the usual fruit trees and bushes throughout the East Midlands from 25th of this month. £3.99 for trees and 99p for the bushes.

Thanks Phil - will try and get to ours early on the 25th!
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."

Any chance that the fruit will be named variety if anybody's bought from them before? Thanks.

They might be - I bought a cherry tree there last year that was labelled as Stella.

Thanks Phil but I think the Raspberry most likely won't be named. I think this is for legal reason that certain breeds are owned/protected by the breeder...royalty protection?? I checked the Woolies ones and they aren't named either even though their other fruit bushes were named .

I haven't seen this mentioned in our local store yet, but will keep looking. Thanks.

These go on sale on Friday 25th Piglet and the website only lists up to the 24th. I found them on the back page of the latest lidl offers book.

My friend tells me that Lidl generally put the new specials out just before closing on the night before, so might be worth nipping down there on the evening of the 24th, if anyone is particulary keen to get a certain type of tree or bush. They do seem to sell out of the good stuff quite quickly!

Anyone know if they have seeds in yet? Got some suprisingly successful ones there last year and they were very cheap.

Visited our local Lidl today and they have diddly squit for gardeners. (Unless you want houseplants)

Anyone else get any today? I've taken a chance on five goosegogs, a redcurrant and a blueberry. I reckon if even one of them does well it's a good enough deal

I got me a redcurrant for 99p from Lidl. The seeds are in too.

Also bought a nectarine tree in flower from Instore for a fiver!!! Happy day!
