Protecting Peach Tree

I keep reading that I should have covered my Peach Tree to prevent "Peach Leaf Curl?"
I haven't done this...When should I have done it and should I do it now or leave it?

Not too sure why it works but to avoid PLC it's best to keep the heavy winter rain off peach trees. Mine is a minature one in a pot so is easy to carry into the greenhouse but I've seen a strange array of shelters used for larger trees. You can spray to help the tree but obviously it's better to avoid as, although not deadly, it's very unattractive.
