Woolworths Fruit Bushes

Popped by Woolsworth to find that they're still selling fruit bushes but this time, they were better choices. It's so amazing that they have the best red currant variety to have (Jonkheer Van Tets) for £1.99, just my luck that they have to stock them now after I've bought mine elsewhere . 4 canes of Glen Ample (summer fruiting) for £1.99, very useful to know its variety. Also an un-named variety Blueberry for £2.49. Others were the usual gooseberry (Careless), Tayberry, thornless Blackberry, pack of 6 Strawberry runners (Cambridge Favourite) and Grapes. Annoyed I didn't make it to Wilko before they shut . Anyone been to Wilko lately?

Do they still have fruit bushes, I just wanted to check out the section where they stock the asparagus crowns, artichoke crowns, strawberry runners and I was supposed to get a cell tray coz my aubs/toms/peppers are taking too long to germinate in heated propagator (holding me back big time). Did they have anything new in there. Like in Poundland they have started stocking the spring bulbs, a pack of 10 6" pots, fertilisers etc.

They still have fruit bushes, though less than a few weeks ago. I didn't see asparagus or artichokes today (though they may just have needed to refill the shelves). They had 3 types of strawbs (bought one of each!). Loads of cell trays etc. I didn't notice anything very new, they've had a good selection of bulbs for a while now.

In Slough, Woolies didn't have anything exciting, but Wilcos was well stocked up. Had plenty of fruit bushes, including an Olive and a Fig (which I got), loads of Artichoke (which I also got), as well as plenty of seed pots and onion sets.

They had 3 types of strawbs (bought one of each!).

Yeah I don't blame you, might as well. BTW I had my Honeoye runners from Wilko too last year and they do work but hardly got any strawberries as they were in their first year. You're supposed to let them produce runners so I must have easily got over 15 runners but if I had cut off the runners, who knows I might have gotten more fruits. I had thought of buying the other two strawberries (mid season Elsanta & perpetual Ostara) from Wilko but then I remembered I had more strawberry seeds although the Fresca ones (through swap) has turned out to be real NADA or duff duff.

This about the named varieties is good, I've been put off buying cheap bushes in the past because I like to know what I'm growing, I'll certainly pop for a look.

Was in wilkos high wycombe last sat they had grape, pear, apple good selection of tubers and baulbs at a price to make the wallet smile also had strawberry plants first time i noticed them in wilkos possible i had eyes shut last year see Asdas starting to get there garden stuff in though try to not get to much off them, as for wollies not been in there yet but going to have to.

yep wilco still have a lot of things in however the pound shop near me is selling to fruit bushes at 2 for a quid probably not the best in the world but at that price if only half live its still a good deal. i got black berry and blue berry and going to get some more

Happened to be in Wilko again today (it's right next door to the kids' half term fairground attractions - that's my story and I'm sticking to it!). I managed not to buy any but new (to our store at least) were teeny tiny propagators with pepper, tomato or herb seedlings already growing in them. £1.50 for six seedlings. Probs not worth it if you have plenty of seeds and a g/h but not a bad deal if you don't!
