  • T&M goji berry

I ordered the 3 for £9:99 goji berry plants from t&m and was wondering if anyone had theirs yet or when to expect them, and also what you are gonna do with them, i looked them up ( after buying lol ) and they can grow 10 feet high!!!! i'm not sure how wide, but will keep them smaller.
Does anyone have a pic of a fully grown bush, a full pic i mean, not one like on t&m, and will they tolerate shade? i may need to give one away cos i overdid the fruitbush quota in woolies!!!!
Any help would be gratefully received!

My lad has grown them from the seeds of dried gojiberries from the shops. Ever resourceful! However, he does realise he's going to have to wait about 5 years before he gets any fruit!

I got the same deal from T&M last year. I ended up giving one away (as you say, for space reasons!) but my two remaining ones are thriving. I had them in pots till last autumn then straight into the ground with a few chicken pellets in the holes. They've got loads of lovely leaf growth this year already.
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."

Goji berries grow wild in the hedgerows in parts of Suffolk because a plant hunter brought them back to his garden from China in the 18th century, and when birds ate the berries the bushes spread them quite a long way.

As their habit of self seeding would suggest, they are remarkable unfussy and easy to grow, and they take a few years to get big, so it might be worth hanging on to all three of yours for a while and then moving the third one in winter (when it's dormant) if you find you don't have enough room.

I love them and can't wait till ours fruit - we got three bushes last spring and they are still only about 30cm high.

Flummery, you must be proud of your son - I guess green fingers run in your family!!!

i also ordered them but i've gone in with my mum and a friend £9.99 each £4.99 delivery so £5 each hope they dont take to long to come but saying that i've just done tesco online and bought a pack of dried berrys coz i don't even know what they taste like . so might save some seed if i like them .
I'd rather regret the things i've done than regret not doing them at all.

If you don't like the dried berries at first, eat a few more - they are a bit of an acquired taste, but then they're addictive!
