60p is pretty good, do you know what variety they are? Wilkos do sell them and it's well worth buying a few different sorts so you can prolong the season you can enjoy a fresh crop.

If you have room, grow a few under a fleece tunnel or a cloche so you get some early ones. For some reason they always taste best of all!

If any flowers get caught by frost they go black in the middle and that means they wont fruit, so just pinch any of those off if you see them and the plant will put its energy into making new flowers that will fruit.

Yo Andy, Just a bit of advice on numbers of plants. Don't buy too many! I started off with three. The following year I had 30. By the third year I had 80 and had given away about 150. Until this season, I'd grown my strawbs in the polytunnel. This year I'm puting some outside. One of the friends I gave some to says he gets his staggered between the end of June and August. I get mine fron the middle of May to the end of June. Job sounds like a good 'un. The variety is Pegasus.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it and if you ain't going to eat it, don't kill it
