I have grown summer and autumn raspberries, and if I was short of space I'd only grow Autumns: they are less prone to maggots, and they don't need staking. You can buy canes from eBay: 3 for a fiver Quality Raspberry plant variety Autumn Bliss x 3 on eBay, also Vegetables Fruits, Plants Seeds Bulbs, Garden Plants, Home Garden (end time 30-Mar-08 15:38:53 BST)

Be warned that raspberries can be very prolific. We put in 4 Autumn Gold canes last year - I counted 42 canes on the weekend!!! We also got two separate fruitings off them in the first year! Needless to say, you'll have to dig up the shoots each to year to stop them spreading. The red raspberry canes rescued from my Grandmother's garden mostly haven't reproduced but are producing flower buds already!

I have a complaint!!!!
I wish you would all stop posting sites where you can buy things!!!! I was looking at the posts and followed the link to a site and have ended up buying 10 raspberry canes, 2 blueberry bushes, some strawberries and a partridge in a pear tree!! ha only joking with the last bit!! I only clicked on it to have a look!! I really must curb my impulsive buying!!!
