what plants can i grow around my fruit trees to give me an effect like grass iwant the ground covering

  • #2
Shade tolerant, low planting - does it have to look like grass?

Lady's Mantle, hardy geraniums, bulbs (cyclamen, crocus, anemones), primulas/polyanthus

How about a grass seed that is shade tolerant?

chives? I think they will look quite nice when they flower, plus they will multiply, thinking of the cheap side of things

You don't want to plant anything that will compete with your fruit for food and water. Grass would.
How about Limnanthes, grown as a green manure? They'll attract aphid-eating hoverflies if you let them flower.
