    Hi all
I sowed some strawberry seeds on the 6th April and after about 3 weeks, I still have nothing but a pot of compost! Is it normal for strawbs to take so long to germinate? I'm starting to worry that I've lost them some how.

    Any help?

I also sowed strawberry seeds this year. They do take a while to come through but if you don't see anything after this week i would think you have lost them. Where did you sow them? Are they outside or inside? What kind of soil did you use? Did you maybe overwater them. Let me know and i will see if i can help.

I sowed them in little pots that are under a propagator. I keep them out in a g/h in the day and take them in at night. The seeds came in a kit along with soil and containers, so I just used that. As for watering...I have a spray bottle which I use so as not to disturb the soil. I try to keep the soil moist at all times.

      Appreciate any help.

I was worried about mine too - think I planted them 3 or 4weeks ago - but today THEY'VE COME UP!!
Same story with my blue aztec sweetcorn & peas - think the warmth has woken them up now.
Hope yours come through too, give then a bit longer!

They can take ages to come up and when they do they seem to stay the same size forever, be patient with them, around mid-may they will start growing into recognisable strawberry plants and will even fruit in their first year. Hard to believe when you're staring at tiny seedlings.

i have sown mine on 31st March and it took them about 2 weeks to come up. I had it in tray, sealed in clear plastic bag, on the warm windosill. Tallest seedling is about 1" now
