flowering rhubarb

I have just cut off another flower from my rhubarb. But was it the right thing to do...a bit late in the day you might say but this clump seems to flower every year.
What does everyone do with theirs?

I haven't experienced my rhubarb flowering but have read on here that you should pull off the flower stalks as soon as they appear.

Yep you're right.
The plant is most likely to die after flowering.

Here...don't just take my word for it.....section 6.5....

I think some varieties are more prone to flowering than others. Mine rarely does it (Stockbridge Arrow) but I would cut the flowering stalk off if it did. I think Champagne seems to be a martyr to premature floriferousness If it happens a lot, I'd be tempted to buy another variety.

Thanks.....thank goodness I have been pulling off the flower stalks. It has not died yet and has been flowering for the last 3 years.
