Not smelly redcurrent

A while ago I bought a redcurrent 'stick' from a supermarket (it was cheap). It does look like a redcurrent, but doesn't have that lovely distinctive redcurrent smell that I love. Do all redcurrents smell of redcurrent?? Could it be something else
Any ideas??

I find they only smell of redcurrants when they are fruiting. How is it growing? If it's OK then leave it and see what happens.

My redcurrants don't really smell in the same way as blackcurrants do.

Could it be a whitecurrant? I got one from the supermarket a few years ago and that doesn't smell 'curranty'.

Could be anything!!!
I bought it as a lot of three raspberries, a redcurrant and a blackcurrant. Two of the rasps are ok but the third really was just a stick.......
The blckcurrant is a bit slow on the uptake but I hope it may pick up now the sun is out (!!????).
I'll just have to wait and see!
