  • Mangoes from stones,,,,

I have a couple of smashing Mango trees - grown from the stones.

I have also got 10 Clementine’s & couple of cumquats - from seeds.

I have just read on these pages that citrus trees grown from pips take years & years to flower/fruit !

I am now wondering about the mango trees !
Does anyone know if they will also take that long to fruit/flower please ?

    -----:-----
Am I missing something here - do ALL things grown from pips, seeds, stones take masses of time to fruit ?

If so - I’ll give up wasting my time !

    Cheers all

I have no idea I'm afraid but would love to see a picture of your mango trees... I have just eaten one and was considering trying to grow the seed.

Hi there, in the hotter countries mangoes grow like weeds all self set and growing rapidly. You stick with it' The plants are lovely and if it is warm enough for them to fruit well that is a bonus. Good luck to you I say.

              Hi Furking
I am like you!! I cannot resist to grow fruit trees from seed. I grew walnuts, chestnust, pomegranades, passion fruits etc with various results. One thing we have to remember is time and the right climate for each type of fruit tree and the most important thing to bear in mind is that when we plant a tree... it is for the next generation..........saying that please enjoy what you are doing.
