I planted a bare rooted mini pear tree (conference) about a fortnight ago, watered in well, firmed teh soil and added blood, fish and bone. it took well, leaves grew and I even had some blossom. We have had almost constant rain since.

Just gone to look at it and the leaves look really floppy and 'sad'.
Normally I would water it, but not sure if it needs any more. I don;t want to drown it..

    any ideas?

Yes, water it. It will not drown in bare soil.
My guess is that the wind and temperatures have sapped some of the moisture from it.

we planted 2 pear trees a couple of years ago at about the same time and they needed quite a lot of watering despite the weather that summer. yet the plums put in at the same time coped really well. Keep going when you get pears it is worth it
