  • Would angle iron be ok to make a fruit cage?

This is probably a completely girlie numpty question, so apologies in advance I've found about 15 six foot lengths of angle iron lurking behind my garden shed. The sort with holes for nuts and bolts. It's rusty and tatty but solid. Would it be feasible to make a fruit cage out of it? And would there be a 'best way' to go about it?

Answers in words of one syllable or less, please

my dad has had angel iron in his greenhouse to stake up his tomatoes for several years now wiith no problems. He did paint it however just to make it look a little better as it was rusty like yours. Good luck with it.

If its got loads of holes and slots in it it sounds like dexion. It should be fine for a fruit cage and you certainly won't need to dril any holes to bolt it together! All the holes will be handy for fastening mesh to it also!
