hi have just picked my first strawberries and they are lovely and juicy full of flavour but.... they are really tart is there anything i can do to calm this down a bit
thanks tracy
i have actually already done that and lovely as they were i was thinking more like do i need to feed them or extra water.... oh i dont know maybe the sugar is the best idea but i have about 40 on one plant alone i WILL be the size of a house by the end of the summer so ta very much but any other ideas
well i suppose i could give them to someone else and they could end up being the size of a house and not me........now theres an idea
Are you picking them a bit early? I do this all the time 'cause I'm so excited about having some fruit But I have found that the ones I leave for one more day are often sweeter especially if the sun is shining.
If they are still tart, I'll bet they would make great jam or sorbet - guess what I've been doing today
