      Hi Paul

Not sure myself... I've never been much good with the acid vs alkaline plants... Hoepfully someone will be along soon though

Good to see you're having a go at the growing... presume it's going good?

Feed the soil, not the plant is a good rule. i've found no advice online - water seems more important than feeding

I bought two cranberry plants from my now sadly defunct allotment shop a couple of months ago and they didn't seem to do anthing then I read that you should water them with rain water and since I have been doing that they have picked up a bit. I have also bought some organic ericasous ('scuse spelling) soil feed. Can't remember who made them but it is only one tablet per growing season.

that's because they like acidic conditions - rain water and ericaceous compost are acidic ~ tap water (esp.hard water) is more alkaline (limescaley)

They also like boggy soil, I have mine standing on a tray filled with rain water only!
