Apple Trees & Climate

Hi,

I'm thinking of growing some apple trees (about 10 to 16). I was hoping somebody may be able to give me advice regarding the best types of apple trees that will grow in my area. I live in northern ireland. Because I intend to put in about 10 to 16 I am intending to put in a few different varieties.

Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

Nip around a few nurseries in your area and research 'local varieties', make sure you include at least some of these time-tested trees in your orchard.

You could look around this site and maybe attend an event and try before you buy. This is a long term investment. Good luck and good tasting.

There should be others too.
