  • Bringing Plants Inside Over Window

    Morning Folks,

On my patio I have 2 Fig trees, 1 Olive, 1 Lemon, and 1 Orange. Question is what ones should I bring inside over winter?

    thanks as always

Well I can tell you what I do!
Fig and Olive outside (if in pots in a sheltered spot)
Lemon and orange somewhere cool ie unheated conservatory

But if they're very small I'd probably bring them all in if the weather is terrible, just overnight or so. Or you can wrap them in fleece if the forecast is bad. You may be ok in the microclimate of London!

        Cheers Essex Girl,

I have some of those tomato houses, could they go in them on the patio?
        Cheers

Yes for the Olive and Fig, might be a bit chilly for the others...

As above, leeave the figs and olive outside but the citrus will get frost damaged so need to come in - I have mine in the conservatory over winter and they do fine. Sometimes put them out for a few hours if it's sunny to give them a bit of air - don't know if it makes a difference but it just seems right.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
